Lady Gaga's Early Life and Career

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, the Woman Behind Lady Gaga

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, in New York City. She adopted the stage name "Lady Gaga" in 2008. Germanotta's parents encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. She began playing piano at the age of four and took acting lessons throughout her childhood.

Early Success and Breakthrough

Germanotta attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied music. She dropped out after two years to pursue a career in music. She signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2006 but was dropped from the label a year later. In 2008, she signed with Interscope Records and released her debut album, "The Fame." The album was a commercial success and earned Gaga her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.

Lady Gaga quickly became known for her eccentric style and provocative performances. She continued to release successful albums and singles, including "Born This Way" (2011), "Artpop" (2013), and "Joanne" (2016). She has won numerous awards, including 11 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globe Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
